What is Captain Insano?

Captain Insano is a kid racer chasing his dreams of racing at some of the most famous race tracks and creating adventures with his hero's in the amazing world of Dirt Track Racing!

We created this Children's Book Series because of our love for racing and the need to keep the racing community growing. We wish to build the passion for racing at a young age while teaching our kids some life lessons along the way! The stories all have a purpose or theme to them which can help our children learn and build good character in life. We also thought to ourselves about how the parents reading the stories would feel enjoying the connections from their love of racing and reading to the little ones. We think this is a great experience for all involved and we hope you enjoy the journey with us as we create new and fun ways to teach the sport of racing to our little ones!

Our creator/founder is Chris Williamson from Watertown, SD. Chris created the concept/characters and works with all involved every step of the way. We would like to thank our artists Roger Warrick, Ed Luterio and Don Suratos. They have a very special talent and we are very grateful for their work!

Meet The Author

I am from Watertown, SD and have been involved with racing either as a fan or a pit crew member almost my whole life. My brother is a very special driver himself and along the way he earned the nick name Captain Insano. I have always believed that his nick name was amazing and would be such a great character name for something. As I have gotten older and now have children of my own, the idea was created. While sitting in a chair reading to my little boy i realized how cool it would be to have a book about racing. I spent many weeks working out the process and how the books would be structured to they would succeed. I always believed it would be so much fun to go on these adventures with our favorite drivers so I thought to myself why not build the whole book series around this concept. So in a sense, every story is just our way of full filling a dream of meeting and hanging out with our racing heroes. I want to give a special thanks to Brian Birkhofer who was the very first driver I asked to be involved in this concept. He didnt even hesitate to be involved. I was so proud that day and continued to reach to others such as Kenny Wallace, Hudson O'Neal and Bobby Pierce. This was the driver list for the very first set of books. We hope to continue and see what lies next. We thank you for coming along for the ride. We hope your little ones will have life long memories of yourself and them reading about racing!
